between humans and their pets through education and good, fun times!!
HI!! I'm Karen L. Meldrum, Owner of Wizard
of Dogz. I've spent the majority of my life in and around the Columbus area, and have taken care of just about every pet one
could think about -- mice, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, fish, small birds, large birds, cats, dogs, and horses.
On occasion I've even been known to slop some pigs and take care of a herd of cattle. Currently at home are Doyle, a Pembroke
Welsh Corgi, Gryffindor and Luna, both who-knows-what mixes; and seven cats named Tang, Babylon, Beowulf, Grendl, Bobcat,
Mischief and Squeaks. Though they might not want to admit it, my pets do need their nap time every day, and that
gives me time to help you and your pets!!
Why me?? I spent 14 years in the retail and/or service profession, with
12 years in management. In 1995 I became an employee of a major pet supply store and since then have been committed to educating
anyone who would listen about their pets. I quickly studied and completed their seven core courses of animal education, and
then became certified as an obedience instructor in puppy preschool, potty training, basic obedience, and intermediate or
AKC Canine Good Citizen. I also received a two year degree in Animal Science. As a manager I was in charge of obedience, grooming,
pet adoption and rescue organizations, and the area known as fish, bird, reptile and small animal world. In recent years I've
done extensive research in dog training, animal care, animal behavior, and animal nutrition.
Now I'd like to use
my resources and experiences to help you. Whether you're out for a long day, a long weekend or a much needed vacation, or
if you just need help getting to know your friend a little better, my services can be beneficial to you and your family!!
